This shopping bag is by New York based visual artist Hayal Pozanti. The black canvas tote features the text "25 percent of the Earth's species could be headed for extinction by 2050 due to global warming." The other side features a visual translation of the same text in Pozanti's invented alphabet of abstract signs. We like to think of this bag as an amulet you can carry with you to protect the Earth.

HAYAL POZANTI

Hayal Pozanti was born in Istanbul and lives and works in New York City. Her work relies on 'Instant Paradise': an invented alphabet used as a personally standardized encryption system. Embedded within her shapes are bundles of mined data relating to the impact of contemporary technological developments on human lives.
