This project grew out of our desire to have a form of printed information about THE THING that we could take with us to some of the book and art fairs in the fall of 2008. We wanted the delivery of information to be more than a card or a pamphlet, so we began speaking with Tucker Nichols (who worked with us on issue 3.5 of THE THING) about the possibility of creating a map that would be of anywhere and nowhere at the same time. To really make this project work, we invited the creative team at Macfadden and Thorpe to design it.
