Issue 17 is by LA-based visual artist Shannon Ebner. Shannon's issue features a glass bottle filled with syrup from the maple trees surrounding Mike Czok's house in Braintree, VT, complete with a gold sticker that reads "syrup." The issue also includes an 18" x 27" fold-out poster of a black and white photograph of a tree face.

SHANNON EBNER

Shannon Ebner (b. 1971) lives and works in Los Angeles.

Her work has recently been included in the 6th Berlin Biennial, curated by Kathrin Rhomberg, and the Rencontre D’Arles, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist. She has exhibited extensively including exhibitions at the Tate Modern, The Serpentine Gallery, London, the 2008 Whitney Biennial, and P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, New York. Gallery exhibitions include solo shows at Altman Siegel, San Francisco, Kaufmann Repetto, Milan and Wallspace, New York. Her work has been included in many artist compendiums and most recently appeared on the cover of Artforum in April, 2010 with a feature article by Tom McDonough.
