Issue 22 is by LA-based conceptual artist John Baldessari.  It consists of two 100% cotton sateen pillowcases featuring inverse images of a woman clutching a pillow. The original black and white image was taken from a Hollywood film still in Baldessari's vast collection of images.  It was silkscreened on each pillowcase with environmentally-friendly, water-based ink.  The pillowcases are standard-sized and envelope-style.  For those who like their thread count high, the issue clocks in at a solid 320 thread count.

Produced entirely in San Francisco, California, with support from Levi’s Made & Crafted and clothing design companies Turk & Taylor, Gravel & Gold, and New Factory Friend, this issue has been designed to be slept with...or on.  Like all issues of THE THING, it is meant to be used.
